Breath work isĀ a simple and profound practice

...using specific breathing techniques to improve mental, emotional, and physical well-being. There are various methods depending on what your goals are, promoting relaxation, reducing stress, or enhancing self-awareness. Using intentional breathing techniques can access deeper states of consciousness, release tension, and facilitate healing.

The best thing about breath work is its simplicity and how easy it can be to incorporate into your life. Depending on the type of breath work being used and your guidance through your session you can create more peace and calm in your heart or get to the root emotional causes of ancestral patterns, and release stored energy. And, the best part is you begin creating a space within yourself where you are vibrating in alignment to what you value, and your life becomes a reflection of that.

Three of the most common breathwork techniques are:

Belly Breathing

This technique involves breathing deeply into your diaphragm rather than shallowly into the chest. It is used when you'd like to reduce stress and anxiety, promote relaxation, and improve oxygen flow to the body.

I use this when I need to recalibrate after having an argument with my husband.

Box Breathing

This method involves inhaling, holding the breath, exhaling, and holding again, each for a count of four, and is used to enhance focus, calm the mind, and manage stress. Lots of athletes use this type of breath work and is very beneficial in high-pressure situations.

I use this when I have a to do list that is overwhelming, or before I am in session with a client who has very specific goals, and I want to ensure I am 150% focused and present.

HolotropicĀ Breathing

This is a more intense form of breathwork that involves constant circular inhale and exhale controlled breathing, and is used to induce altered states of consciousness.

This is the breath work modality I use for breakthroughs, deep emotional healing, self-exploration, and spiritual growth.

I am trained in the Metamorphosis Method, an trauma release technique, and I utilize this type of breath work to identify, address, and release generational trauma.

I have used this type of breath work to understand relationship dynamics and why I, for example, feel responsible for everyone's emotions, and then have been able to release and transmute these deep patterns.

Breath work is the missing link

...for women and mothers who want to create a peaceful home because of how your breath affects your nervous system and influences how your body responds to stress and relaxation. Your breath can activate your relaxation response, and controlled breathing will stimulate your parasympathetic nervous system, which helps calm your body and mind and lower levels of stress hormones like cortisol, helping to alleviate anxiety and tension.
